The father of one of the women who was viciously murdered in Texas has been arrested.
According to several reports, James Cosby, who is the father of Britney Cosby, was arrested on two counts of tampering with evidence after detectives found blood and other evidence inside is home.
Detectives also found a Quran in his closet that was open to a page about homosexuality which leads them to believe he may have murdered them because of his religious beliefs.
Cosby’s mother, Loranda McDonald, told reports that she left James because he was violent. She also stated that on several occasions he indicated to her that he despised the fact their daughter was gay:
“He said it to me a few times that he did not like the idea of her being gay,” said McDonald.
Cystal Jackson and her long-time girlfriend Britney Cobsy were discovered dead in a dumpster on Friday in Galveston, TX. It is being said the two were apparently traveling together to the beach for Mardi Gras festivities.
The homicide has not been classified as a hate crime, however authorities say the car they were driving was stolen and may belong to whoever killed them. There are also reports that each of the ladies were killed in different ways and that their bodies may have been moved to where they were discovered after they were already dead.
Those with information about the case are asked to contact the sheriff’s office at (866) 248-8477 or Galveston County Crime Stoppers at (409) 763-8477.
