JULY 4th: CELEBRATE AND HONOR THOSE THAT PROTECT!
Independence was declared on July 2, 1776 and then on July 4, 1776 Congress gave its approval to what was written in the Declaration of Independence.
Independence was declared on July 2, 1776 and then on July 4th, 1776 Congress gave its approval to what was written in the Declaration of Independence.
Finally on August 2, 1776 the Declaration of Independence was signed. The text that Congress approved regarding the Declaration of Independence was written by Thomas Jefferson. The Declaration stated the four self-evident truths:
- All men are created equal.
- The rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
- The governed created the rights of the government.
- If a government became corrupt then the people have the right to alter or abolish it.
We should celebrate as a nation for everyone holding these truths. Great leaders of the women’s and civil rights movement ensured that everyone was fully represented by these truths. In addition, as we celebrate the Fourth of July, let’s us not forget those who protect our freedom.
