JULY 4th: Celebrate and honor those that protect!
Independence was declared on July 2, 1776 and then on July 4, 1776 Congress gave its approval to what was written in the Declaration of Independence.
July 4th declared independence on July 2, 1776, and approved the text of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776.
Delegates signed the Declaration of Independence on August 2, 1776. Thomas Jefferson wrote the text that Congress approved. The Declaration stated four self-evident truths:
- All men are created equal.
- The rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
- The governed created the rights of the government.
- If a government became corrupt then the people have the right to alter or abolish it.
We should celebrate as a nation for everyone holding these truths. Great leaders of the women’s and civil rights movements fought to ensure these truths fully represented everyone. In addition, as we celebrate the Fourth of July, let’s us not forget those who protect our freedom.
