About Alcadio Laguer and Ultimate Rush Concepts
The picture above is from his collection of paintings called, Mother and Child, where he captures the essence of a child getting nourishment from its parent.
Alcadio says that the painting shows the child “having that special connection with mother earth, being in her womb for 9 months.”
Has been talented since grade school
Alcadio, who is a long time friend and high school classmate of the founder of Unheard Voices Networks, talks about how he first got started in the art world.
It was in third grade at Garfield School in Long Branch, N.J. Alcadio and I went on a school trip with Ms. Collins to The Daily Record, a local newspaper, on Broadway between Johns Bargain store & JJ Newberry.
When we returned, Ms. Collins asked us to draw what we saw. “They took my picture & hung it in the front office. They couldn’t believe the 3-D effect,” said Laguer.
Alcadio was surprised because he was only doing what he loved to do. He said that he “didn’t see what the big deal was about.”
When teachers and friends actually came up to him and gave him kudos, that’s when he knew something good can come out of this.
He is a self taught fine artist
Alcadio is a self taught fine artist and a classic auto restorer, hoping to get a foot hold in the Charlotte area.
He attended Brookdale Community College where he took several courses in their art department.
He has served in the US Army, 2nd 9th Infantry Division Ft. Stewart, GA.
While supporting The Rangers in Panama, he developed an appreciation for nature’s robust Rain Forest colors.
You can say his style is a fascination with:
- bright colors
- shadows
- fine details
- absorbing the essence of all what he sees
Alcadio says that each project “reveals it’s unique character.” His works mostly in mixed media: air brush, pastels, oil pastels, acrylics and enamel.
Alcadio Laguer’s life outside of painting
His other ambition is restoring classic muscle cars. He is currently working on a ground up 1956 Chevy Bel-Air Custom-rod.
He is married to Denise Taylor Laguer, and is the father of four.
Renee Covin
Alcadio Laguer’s latest project has brought tears to many people eyes.
His natural born ability to capture a picture and to bring it to life is amazing.
This is evident in the portrait that he created for “Renee Covin’s Day” to be placed in the Neptune, NJ Public Library. At the ceremony you heard cries of “Oh My God”, “This is beautiful”.
I knew then that Alcadio had captured the essence of Renee’s spirit and made Renee’ Covin’s Day a reality.
When Alcadio was first asked about doing a portrait for Renee’ Covin’s Day he did not hesitate at all to say yes.
Alcadio has been a fantastic artist from grade school. My family was ecstatic that he had the time to take on this project.
I was so excited when he said yes. I knew that if anyone could capture the realness and essence of my wife, he could.
The Covin and Logan families appreciate the love. Thank you for all the hard work that you have put into this project to make Renee’ Covin’s Day a reality.
