UV: When did you fall in love with music?
Lucki Starr: I genuinely fell in love with music when I was a little girl, probably like 2yrs old. I grew up in a very music driven family, so it’s always been all around me. I love music & honestly can’t live without it!

UV: How long have you been creating and performing music?
Lucki Starr: I’ve been performing since I was little girl ( dancing since 18months old & singing/performing since 9 yrs old) & creating/writing music specifically for the past 4 years.

UV: How would you describe your music?
Lucki Starr: My music is R&B/ Pop with a “Trap Vibe”. One thing about my music is that even though I touch base on a bunch of different topics, no matter what, I always like to make sure the beat is still fun & funky.

UV: What artists have the greatest musical influences on you and your music?
Lucki Starr: I’m inspired by so many talented artists but I would have to say my all time inspirations are Janet Jackson, Michael Jackson, JLo, Brandy, Jazmine Sullivan, Beyonce, & Chris Brown.

UV: What is the hardest challenge you have encountered with building your fan base?
Lucki Starr: Luckily, I haven’t come across any hard challenges with building my fan base but I always have to remind myself to make sure I’m consistent on all my social medias, interacting with my #LuckiCharmz ( what I call my supporters) & showing them love as
much as possible! They do so much for me & really ride for me so I always try to show my appreciation as much as possible.

UV: Has anyone ever given you negative feedback on your music, if so how did you react to it?
Lucki Starr: I don’t always read my comments on social media…I find that’s really the only time people will ever come out their face to hate, when hiding behind a screen. I always focus only on the positive, and ignore anything negative. Whenever I happen
to see negativity, it doesn’t affect me because I love what I do & what I’m able to create. Everyone has an opinion and I respect that, but it genuinely does not phase me.

UV: How important and/or how difficult is it to support your career with your own funding?
Lucki Starr: It is very very important to support my career with my own funding as a hungry artist on the rise. You have to invest in yourself to level up; every artist has one it at some point or another. It’s not always easy, but this is what I want to
do, so it’s worth it.

UV: To date, what has been your best performance? When was it, where was it and why is it your best performance?
Lucki Starr: My favorite performance so far has probably been when I performed at The Foundry in Philly because it was the first time I performed my single “Make Me” & it was such a humbling feeling to see people dancing to it, and singing the lyrics!

UV: Where do you see yourself in the next five years?
Lucki Starr: In five years, I see myself being very happy, creating more music & living life to the fullest touring, meeting more #LuckiCharmz around the world, and hopefully having great success in all aspects of my music career .

UV: Do you have any upcoming shows?
Lucki Starr: Yes! Just keep up with my social medias to see when I announce my upcoming shows & events. All my social medias are @Lucki_Starr .

UV: What current projects do you have out or forthcoming projects in progress?
Lucki Starr: I currently have a single out called “Make Me”, my music video on VEVO of “Make Me”, and am also working on releasing a few other singles before releasing my project.

UV: In closing, I would like you to leave the Unheard Voices readers words of encouragement and inspiration, especially for those pursuing a career in music and entertainment.
Lucki Starr: Never. Give. Up!! Always work hard & have faith and confidence in yourself & talent. You truly can accomplish anything you put your mind to! Energy is everything, so make sure to always stay positive, ( and when you’re feeling down just try to look at the brighter side of things; just think, it can always be worse and it will eventually get better) & surround yourself with positive people who motivate & support you and your career. Love you long time!
