ARGENTINOSAURUS DISCOVERY ON CLASSROOM CLOSE-UP
I was very eager to see the new exhibit of Argentinosaurus. Discovered by Guillermo Heredia in Argentina, Argentinosaurus was a titanosaur sauropod.
Recently I made a trip to the American Museum of Natural History in New York City. During this trip, I made time to visit the gigantic dinosaur bone collection. I was very eager to see the new exhibit of Argentinosaurus.
Exhibit of Argentinosaurus
Discovered by Guillermo Heredia in Argentina, Argentinosaurus was a titanosaur sauropod. This dinosaur was said to have fought another huge prehistoric monster called Giganotosaurus. When I made it to the hall in which Argentinosaurus was in, I was amazed that the one room could not hold it. This creature’s neck extended all the way out into the hallway. I took two pictures starting with the head and neck and then finally the gigantic body. What I was amazed about was that this creature was alive on this planet way before man. I found this creature to be very fascinating and it made me think about how the idea of a dragon may have come about. Did people from long ago stumble upon these bones and created an idea of a dragon not knowing what a dinosaur was? Who knows.
During the filming of the Ghana session for Classroom Close-up, I showed all the students my pictures. The students in Ghana told me that they were amazed about how big this creature was.
My students along with the students in Ghana informed me that the Argentinosaurus should be made a part of the Cretaceous Warzone project. I fully agreed. On this posting the Cretaceous Warzone project articles along with some interesting videos of dinosaurs and movie trailers. In addition, a video on Eugene Parker and his vision about the solar system.
