Ghana’s military history
The Ambassadors had a huge presentation that went into the history, evolution, and culture of the country’s military.
For instance, some of the presentation dealt with how the Armed Forces in Ghana were created in the year 1957. The Chief of Defense was Stephen Otu who was picked for that position in September of 1961. Prime Minister, Kwame Nkrumah was responsible for establishing a strong military in Ghana. For instance, he established the Ghanaian Air Force.
Women in the Ghana’s military
Another interesting part of their presentation was about the history of women in Ghana’s military. According to their presentation, women in the military came a long way. For instance, women became Brigadier General and officers in the Ghana Air Force.
