Florida mother seeks justice after Black 9-year-old daughter reportedly verbally attacked by man while selling candy
On April 14, while 9-year-old Sincere and her cousin were selling candy in their neighborhood, an alleged encounter with their neighbors took a disturbing turn.
A 9-year-old Florida girl and her 11-year-old cousin were reportedly threatened by their adult neighbors while out selling candy.
The alleged incident: Child attacked by neighbors
On April 14, while 9-year-old Sincere and her cousin were selling candy in their neighborhood, an alleged encounter with Tyler and Cassidy Chambers took a disturbing turn. The couple allegedly threatened to shoot Sincere and made false accusations that she and her brothers had tried to break into their home.
Sincere’s mother says that her daughter was simply selling sweet treats.
Chambers allegedly shared doorbell camera footage of Sincere on a community Facebook group, reportedly captioning it with a violent and profane threat: “You’re lucky we weren’t home to shoot your a— d-mb b—.” He later allegedly deleted the post and his social media accounts amid backlash.
Police report and charges
Sincere’s mother, Beyond Shabazz, has filed a police report and is seeking criminal charges. She stated that her daughter now feels unsafe in her neighborhood and has been emotionally affected by the incident.
Shabazz has also launched a GoFundMe campaign to hire a lawyer to pursue legal action against the Chambers.
“My child does not feel safe in her neighborhood now due to this, and now every time she clicks on her Facebook or TikTok, she sees what this monster posted about her for the world to see,” the fundraiser reads.
As of this story, the fundraiser has raised a little more than $14,000.
Chambers allegedly expressed regret for his initial post, stating he was “hot” when he wrote it. According to reports, Shabazz has refused to accept his apology, believing his intent was precarious.
The incident has caused widespread backlash calling for the couple to face consequences.
