In Remembrance of 9/11

Every staff member had students work on a project, speech, and volunteer in a community activity which all paid tribute to those lives lost on September 11, 2001. In Mr. David Wronko’s history class, his students worked on the following 9/11 project:
9/11 Project
Directions:
In a group answer the following questions regarding one of America’s darkest moments in U.S. history.
- Who were the individuals responsible for 9/11 and why did they do it?
- Were there any warnings of a possible attack on 9/11 and how were they not realized?
- Before 9/11, the World Trade Center was attacked. What happened during that event and what measures were taken to try to prevent another attack?
- After 9/11, what did the administration of that time do to ensure the American people?
- Who was the president that ordered the death of the mastermind of 9/11 and succeeded? What measures did he take in order to achieve the assassination of this mastermind
- After the assassination of the mastermind of 9/11, was there still a threat of terrorism? If yes, what was being done to prevent it?
- Do you think your politicians who represent you is doing enough to keep you safe? Explain.
Create
Directions:
Design a memorial for the victims of 9/11. Memorials can have beautiful symbols showing remembrance. In a group, design a memorial that can be incorporated at the World Trade Center site to show the families of the victims that their loved ones will never be forgotten.
Results of the creative part of this project could be seen above with the amazing artwork done by the APHS students. This was a tragic event and students throughout the building did their very best to pay tribute.
New school year at Asbury Park High: Wilbur V. Martin
In addition to the remembrance of 9/11, Vietnam Veteran, Wilbur V. Martin paid a visit to Asbury Park High School to recruit participants for the Voice of Democracy essay contest. Mr. Martin explained this year the students have a chance at a $35,000 dollar scholarship to any university of their choice by answering the following question; “How Are You Showing Patriotism and Support for Our Country?” The students of Mr. Wronko’s honors history class were excited to hear this information and now they have become active participiants.
Esports

Esports now had launched its season and APHS students were very invovled. The current video games the students were competing in were Rocket League and Marvel Rivals. Both games allow students to develop team work, strategies, and plays to outmaneuver their opponents. The great part of Esports so far was the fact it brings students together to collaborate and think which helps them improve their comprehension and writing skills. Esports could very well launch students into a career with Netflix.
Cretaceous Warzone
For over ten years Unheard Voices Magazine supported me in my dinosaur project the Cretaceous Warzone. Right now this project became very advanced using AI technology. As of now, the Cretaceous Warzone now could be seen on Youtube. The link: The Cretaceous Warzone – YouTube.
