Music Review: Stacy Barthe’s, “BEcoming”
Themes that weave and bend into each other with a story attached, that touches you within your soul is a moving project
Themes that weave and bend into each other with a story attached, that touches you within your soul is a moving project. Stacy Barthe, has accomplished that on her major label debut, “BEcoming”.
Stacy Barthe Becomes
It is a testimony to her own life experiences, in which she’s been open to discuss since she was thrust into the spotlight from songwriting to singer.
She thrusts you right into the muck from the beginning with the intro titled, “My Suicide Note”, an ode to her own raw pain and suicide attempt in 2010. The ride continues and you feel life and mental battles that everyone encounters. She even touches upon issues with self-love, which is truly felt and evident on “Me Versus Me”.
Collectively this album is emotional as it is mentally uplifting, in regards to how we as human beings see ourselves. Our life journeys are all different, but in the end we all share mutual experiences and sharing those just might help when you least expect it.
