Rogue One: Why Not Use It!
After I watched Rouge One, I decided I am going to use this as a tool for teaching. This film in a way reminded me of World War II

Rogue One
For instance, the laser from the Death Star created atomic explosions like what was witnessed with the use of the atomic bombs during World War II.
In World War II, the first atomic bomb, Little Boy, was dropped by Enola Gay on to the city of Hiroshima in Japan. After it was dropped, the explosion destroyed the entire city. In addition, the second atomic bomb, Fat Man, was dropped on Nagasaki, Japan, by the Boeing B-29 Superfortress Bockscar.
With the information I just given, you could draw comparisons between the movie and the actual historical events.
Today, many movies use history to tell their stories. Even though the stories could be fiction, many stories use real events and people to create their scenes and characters. Furthermore, Rogue One did in fact have a war story feel to it. This was not your average Star Wars movie but a movie that was told like a war documentary.
In conclusion, I feel that if you take something children like and admire and draw a connection with what they were supposed to learn, the result would be tremendous.
P.S.
Lets remember Princess Leia, Carrie Fisher.
