Keisha Lance Bottoms wins Atlanta mayoral race but opponent wants recount
In an intense mayoral race, Keisha Lance Bottoms came out on top making her the second black female elected mayor of the city of Atlanta.

But the win does not come without some controversy as her opponent, 65-year-old Mary Norwood asked for a recount.
Ballot votes
Bottoms won by approximately 700 votes which is less than a 1 percent margin. Norwood called for a recount because officials have not yet counted all absentee ballots from the military.
Officials will count all of the ballots by Thursday, giving Norwood the information she needs.
