Yvette Elgart’s Chorus returned last Friday, 9/27/18, to sing for Project Ghana.
This session was the first for many to come. Mrs. Elgart’s Chorus had only two weeks to practice since beginning the new year and their performance was incredible.
They sang multiple songs in which the students in Ghana enjoyed. One song that everyone could relate to was We Are the Champions by Queen.
Some of the lyrics:
I’ve paid my dues
Time after time
I’ve done my sentence
But committed no crime
And bad mistakes
I’ve made a few
I’ve had my share of sand kicked in my face
But I’ve come through
We are the champions, my friends
And we’ll keep on fighting ’til the end
We are the champions
We are the champions
No time for losers
‘Cause we are the champions of the world.
After the chorus performed they received a very nice applause from the students in Ghana. Once the chorus had left, the Dream Academy students and the students in Ghana engaged in a conversation about hobbies, education, and their dreams.
