In Remembrance Of The Delaware Crossing: 243 years ago!
The truth was that Washington and his men, unassisted, crossed the Delaware River to fight. Crossing this river at the time was very difficult.

The above image was an old poster I had with Marvel’s Fantastic Four helping George Washington and his men cross the Delaware River to defeat the Hessian troops who were mercenaries working for the British. However, the poster was fiction. The truth was that Washington and his men, unassisted, crossed the Delaware River to fight. Crossing this river at the time was very difficult because of all the ice they had to travel through.
Hessian forces were unbeatable. Washington needed to change his strategy and catch these men off guard to defeat them. The Battle of Trenton took place on the morning of December 26, 1776. Hessian soldiers were partying the night before and Washington took full advantage by conducting a surprise attack. Joining Washington were John Glover, Henry Knox, and Alexander Hamilton just to name a few.
The attack was a success for Washington and the leader of the Hessian forces, Rall, was mortally wounded. This victory was important for Washington and the Continental Army because throughout the American Revolution, colonial forces were dominated by the British. By gaining this win, this built momentum for the Continental Army. Eventually, the colonial forces defeated the British in the American Revolution with their grand win at the Battle of Yorktown when British general Charles Cornwallis surrendered.
It was amazing that this battle took place 243 years ago.
The first image above took place at the Red Carpet viewing of Project Ghana when the students in Ghana did a presenation based on the American Revolution. The second image showed Washington’s crossing done by German-American artist Emanuel Leutze. This painting I believe was used during the American Civil War to raise money for the Union but also to inspire Union soldiers who opposed the Confederate States of America.
Speaking of Alexander Hamilton. Here is a video from the Hit Play Hamilton.
Here is a video from the movie the Crossing showing Washington’s attack on the Hessians.
Washington’s men were like Superman in which they had to overcome the severe cold and exhaustion to fight this unbeatable group. Speaking of Superman. here is a video of Superman vs Superman.
For fun: Dwayne Johnson in his new movie.
