HYBRID AND REMOTE LEARNING: JOE BIDEN AND KAMALA HARRIS SWORN IN AS PRESIDENT AND VICE PRESIDENT/PROJECT GHANA/HISTORY SEMINAR WITH STUDENT PROJECTS AND MORE!
Students discussed newly sworn in president of the US, Joe Biden, and the newly sworn in vice president, Kamala Harris.
For the second Ghana session of 2021 between Mr. Wronko’s Asbury Park High School class and the students from the Solid Rock Foundation School in Ghana, there was a discussion about how the newly sworn in president of the United States, Joe Biden, and the newly sworn in vice president, Kamala Harris, would do taking over former president Trump and Mike Pence.
Discussion on Joe Biden and Kamala Harris
Papa Williams and the students in Ghana gave their belief that the new administration would do a better job with the pandemic because as of now president Biden issued that everyone wear masks to protect themselves and others.
They felt that this was a good start because the last administration did not fully promote the use of masks during this pandemic. Furthermore, Mr. Wronko and his students felt that vice president Kamala Harris would most likely face many challenges being not only the first woman in history to be vice president but also the first black and South Asian person to hold that position.
Both sides agreed that the bar would most likely be raised really high. However, both sides felt Kamala Harris would do a good job in being the people’s vice president.
During this session, both classes watched Biden and Harris get sworn in.

History Seminar
Just recently, Mr. Wronko and his students had a history seminar in which they had to create interviews with two African Americans from the American Revolution and two African Americans from the American Civil War.
For example, they picked individuals such as Crispus Attucks and Peter Salem from the American Revolution and Abraham Galloway and William Henry Carney from the American Civil War. More individuals were picked as you would see that in the images on this post.
For each of these interviews, students had to pretend they were news reporters and pretend that these individuals were in front of them doing an interview. The heart of each interview dealt with the strong belief of freedom.
This seminar took place during Mr. Wronko’s social studies classes, an elective class called the Amistad which Mr. Wronko was in charge of, and Project Ghana.
All the students who participated in this seminar did a good job with this project and shared very informative information.
Prehistoric Times Magazine
In other news with remote learning, Aaliyah Oxner and Joseph Serrano-Olguin just had their artwork published in Prehistoric Times Magazine issue 136.
Besides their artwork, Mr. Wronko’s enrichment program’s Turok Son of Stone was also published. Furthermore, member of the New Jersey Assembly, Sean Kean, sent myself, my students, students in Ghana a thank you letter for allowing him to participate in a Project Ghana session.
Godzilla vs Kong film
On an end note, during the latest Ghana session, Mr. Wronko showed all the students the trailer for the upcoming Godzilla vs Kong film. There was hope that during a Ghana session that this movie could be shown in the near future.
