Remote Learning With Ghana: Mrs. Elgart Students Darius Love And Amequa Legagneur Perform/African American Women Who Made American Culture Better/Ancient World History
Mr. Wronko hosted a Ghana session for the students at the Solid Rock Foundation School in Ghana featuring black and women history themes.
Just recently Mr. Wronko hosted a Ghana session for the students at the Solid Rock Foundation School in Ghana. This session had multiple themes. The first theme was music. To cover this theme, chorus teacher Mrs. Elgart recorded two of her students showing their musical talents. The first was Darius Love. Darius Love performed “Lift Every Voice and Sing.” The second was Amequa Legagneur. Amequa performed her own rap entitled “Black History; Here and Now.”
Both videos were shown and the students at the Solid Rock Foundation were very pleased.
The next theme that was covered for this session was how African American Women made American culture better. Mr. Wronko showed multiple presentations that his students done involving many women who should be celebrated. Some of the women who were discussed were Kamala Harris, Michelle Obama, Lorraine Hansberry, Raven Wilkinson, Donna Summers, Flo Jo, and Serena Williams. This theme was a part of Black History and Women’s History Month.
The last theme of the session was Ancient World History. Mr. Wronko gave his news students at the Solid Rock Foundation School in Ghana a presentation on many interesting topics from the Ancient World. For instance, this presentation went into the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World which consisted of The Great Pyramid of Giza, Hanging Gardens of Babylon, Colossus of Rhodes, Lighthouse of Alexandria, The Temple of Artemis, Statue of Zeus at Olympia, and Mausoleum at Halicarnassus. In addition, he showed slides and shared stories on Alexander the Great, Persepolis, the Boxer, the Macedonian Phalanx, and the Battle of Pydna.
