Uken Cummings, a 78-year-old grandfather from Florida, was killed on Sunday, Jan 30th in a CVS parking lot after picking up his prescriptions, Wesh Channel 2 reported.

What happened to Uken Cummings?

Through surveillance video, investigators were able to piece together the senseless crime. They say Cummings was returning to his Mercedes SUV when he was confronted by two suspects who shot him and stole his car. The suspects are accused of also running over Cummings before fleeing the scene.

“Mr. [Uken] Cummings was returning to his vehicle when he was confronted by two individuals who shot him and took the keys to his vehicle,” Sheriff Mina said. “They backed up over him and ran over him again as they were fleeing the scene.”

Suspects

Javonne Marece White, 19, and Jasmine Yvonne Munro, 25 —have been charged with felony first-degree murder and carjacking.

Officials believe there was one more person involved in the incident that has not yet been caught.

The victim’s son said his father’s death is troubling and hard to take.

“We’re people who don’t bother anybody. I don’t understand how any of this happened,” he said. “It’s bad, man, and I know for people, the elderly like that, it makes them not want to come out at all, and that’s no way to live. It’s senseless.”

Both are being held without bond.
