The anticipated film Fruitvale Station, written by Ryan Coogler, will be released on October 18th.
The Sundance award-winning film depicts the final 24 hours into the life of Oscar Grant—the 22-year-old Oakland, Calif., resident shot by police at the Fruitvale subway stop in 2009.
The Weinstein Company acquired the distribution rights for the U.S., Canada, U.K., Australia, and South Africa; and worldwide international sales rights for Fruitvale Station.
