George Zimmerman Juror B37 To Write Book On Her Experience

Juror B37, one of the six anonymous jurors who voted to acquit George Zimmerman of murder charges, has signed with a literary agency to write a book about the trial.

Juror B37 and her husband reached out to Sharlene Martin, president of Martin Literary Management, on July 14, one day after Zimmerman was found not guilty, according to Martin.

The identities of the jurors have been sealed by the court and Martin said in a statement,

“It is not known whether they will … decide to reveal their identities given the sensitivity of the verdict and the outpouring of mixed reactions by the American public.”

The not guilty verdict in the shooting death of Trayvon Martin, a Florida Black teenager, has triggered outrage and peaceful protests in Florida and elsewhere.

The woman is expected to write about her experience as a juror in the racially charged trial. She is currently working with Martin on writing a book proposal.

“My hope is that people will read Juror B37’s book, written with her attorney husband, and understand the commitment it takes to serve and be sequestered on a jury in a highly publicized murder trial and how important, despite one’s personal viewpoints, it is to follow the letter of the law,” Sharlene Martin wrote.

“The reader will also learn why the jurors had no option but to find Zimmerman not guilty due to the manner in which he was charged and the content of the jury instructions,” the statement read.

Juror B37 is a middle-aged white woman who has worked for a chiropractor for 16 years, according to questions she answered during the jury selection process. She has two daughters aged 24 and 27. She used to have a concealed weapons permit but let it expire. Her husband continues to have a concealed weapons permit.

Martin Literary Management has in the past represented other figures involved in high profile cases including Raffaele Sollecito, the ex-boyfriend of Amanda Knox, and SEAL Team Six.
