Asbury Park High School: History Seminar
Students conducted presentations about their research and defended their findings to an audience.

Just recently, Mr. David Wronko’s Asbury Park High School honor students participated in a history seminar. Students conducted presentations about their research and defended their findings to an audience.

The audience was made up of VFW members, Wilbur V. Martin, George Reed, Kathy Bray, Bill Ward, Janice McGowen from the League of Women Voters, actor and lawyer Ernest Anemone, and retired teacher Tina Watson, daughter of Tuskegee Airman George Watson.
What made this seminar successful was that the honor students used many primary and secondary sources to enhance their research. Their research topics were from Ancient Greece, Egypt, Rome, current events, and global issues.

The honor students conducted a ten-minute presentation about their research and answered numerous questions from guests and peers. Students gained a great experience in not only doing presentations but also being able to debate the topics they conducted research on.
- Tina Watson and Amirracle
- Kathy Bray, student Daylin, Wilbur V. Martin
Guest, Ernest Anemone, informed me about his award-winning short comedy “Family Affair.” Ernest not only wrote and produced this film but also made a cameo. “Family Affair” was partially filmed at Brookdale and could be seen on Youtube.
