Man charged for Neptune City, New Jersey homicide
Zhahiem Spann, of Ocean Township, 28, has been charged in connection with the fatal stabbing of Kaylib Paul, 24, of Neptune Township that took place in Neptune City, authorities announced Monday.

Zhahiem Spann, of Ocean Township, N.J., 28, has been charged in connection with the fatal stabbing of Kaylib Paul, 24, of Neptune Township, N.J., that took place in Neptune City, N.J., authorities announced Monday.
Spann was charged with first-degree Murder, fourth-degree Unlawful Possession of a Weapon (knife), and third-degree Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose.

On March 4, 2025, at approximately 11:31 p.m., members of the Neptune City Police Department responded to a report of a stabbing outside a residence in the vicinity of the 200 block of West Sylvania Avenue. Upon arrival, officers discovered a 24-year-old male, suffering from stab wounds.
The victim, later identified as Kaylib Paul of Neptune Township, was rushed to a local hospital for treatment. Paul would later succumb to his injuries and was pronounced deceased on Wednesday, March 5, 2025.
Investigation
An investigation by members of the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Bureau and the Neptune City Police Department determined Spann was responsible for the stabbing.

Despite these charges, every defendant is presumed innocent, unless and until found guilty beyond a reasonable doubt, following a trial at which the defendant has all of the trial rights guaranteed by the U.S. Constitution and State law.
