GHANA SESSION: OIADA’S GLOBAL VILLAGE KICKOFF SESSION WITH MR. CHUCK ROBBINS, CEO OF CISCO/REMEMBERING 9/11 DURING A PANDEMIC/STUDENT SUCCESS DURING PANDEMIC

On September 10, 2020, Mr. Wronko and his students had the privilege of being apart of Oiada’s Global Village Kickoff Session.

Global Village Kickoff Session

Oiada stated on their Facebook page that “A global village is defined as the world being considered a single community linked by telecommunications.

This initiative will enable students to learn about communities they would otherwise not be exposed to.

These connections can lead to a more unified America.

The guest speaker for this was Mr. Chuck Robbins, CEO of Cisco.

This session connected not only with the students in Asbury Park but also Dubai, Great Britain, Ghana, Alaska, Missouri, New Jersey, and also with over 30 participants from different locations around the world for this session.

One of my students told me that it felt like being apart of the United Nations with so many different places participating.

During this session, Mr. Chuck Robbins described his job as being CEO of Cisco as well as working through the pandemic that the world was enduring.

Furthermore, Mr. Wronko with the help of his students was able to speak at this event and shared with all the participants that Oiada International along with himself and students were on the television show Classroom Close-up.

Ghana sessions

In addition, Mr. Wronko shared his blog on Unheard Voices Magazine with all the postings to the many Ghana Sessions that were held by the Asbury Park School District.

My students present during this session were Kailyn Campbell, Ah-Maree Dekle, Ja’Shawn Gadson, Christian Galindo-Dolan, Miracle McBride, Arely Noyola, Stephanie Sarmiento, Jose Ace, Jonathan Barragan-Martinez, Yarelis Cortes-Vidal, Santiago Martinez-Mendoza, Lesly Montoya, and Sanaha Pierre Vilsaint.

September 11 Ghana session

Besides the amazing Ghana session, this week Mr. Wronko’s classes remembered and discussed the events of September 11, 2001.

The classes paid homage to all the lives lost on that day.

Mr. Wronko and students also discussed how in a way we were still living in tough times like 9/11 with the Pandemic caused by Covid 19.

Prehistoric Times Magazine

Finally, Mr. Wronko’s students had success during this pandemic by getting their artwork published in two separate issues of Prehistoric Times Magazine, 132 and 133.

Students whose art work was published were Graciela Perez Bautista, Allison Asegurado Mejia, Isaura Vazquez Rojas, and Lisette Riano Ruiz.
