ATLANTA — Jamal Morton, a parenting influencer with millions of followers, is mourning the death of his 2‑year‑old daughter, Rose, who drowned in the family’s backyard pool on Father’s Day.
Authorities say the drowning appears accidental. The Hall County Sheriff’s Office confirmed deputies responded to the home in Hoschton, Georgia.
Parenting Influencer Jamal Morton’s Beloved Daughter Drowns
Morton, 33, known online as J’Amore and Mr. Jay, said in a now deleted post, Rose wandered outside and got into the pool on her own. He stated he wasn’t home when the drowning occurred.
Morton called Rose “the best daughter a father could ever ask for” and said losing her is a pain he “wouldn’t wish on his worst enemy.” He told followers he would step away from social media as his family grieves.
He also shared a final message to his daughter: “I hope heaven is real because I can’t imagine you being all alone by yourself… Daddy loves you forever, Rose.”
Morton, a father of nine, often featured Rose in his family‑focused content. He posted Father’s Day photos with his children just hours before the drowning.
GoFundMe
Morton’s management team said on Facebook they will temporarily run his social media accounts while the family takes time to grieve.
A GoFundMe has also been created.
According to Morton’s management, the funds will be used to assist the family move to a new home, not because of financial problems:
“Last year, they purchased their first home together. Tragically, it is also the home where they experienced the unimaginable loss of their baby girl.
The decision to move is not about finances or lifestyle. It is about grief. Every room, every hallway, and every corner of the house serves as a constant reminder of one of the most painful moments of their lives. They simply cannot continue living there while trying to heal.
The fundraiser was created to help make that transition possible. If you are able to support, whether by donating, sharing the fundraiser, or keeping the family in your thoughts and prayers, it is sincerely appreciated. If you are not in a position to give, your kindness and understanding mean just as much.”
