What Happened To Trayvon Martin? Teen's Family Demands Answers!

SANFORD, Fla. — Trayvon Martin died from a single gunshot wound to the chest fired from “intermediate range,” according to a newly released autopsy report. The findings were first detailed by NBC News.

The autopsy also noted a fresh injury on Martin’s left hand — a small abrasion no more than a quarter‑inch below the ring‑finger knuckle.

Autopsy Report Shows Zimmerman Had Multiple Injuries

A separate medical report prepared for George Zimmerman the day after the Feb. 26 shooting found he suffered a likely broken nose, swelling, two black eyes and cuts to the scalp. Zimmerman, 28, was a neighborhood watch volunteer in the gated Sanford community where Martin was visiting his father’s fiancée.

Evidence Expected to Be Released

Both documents are part of a large collection of evidence — roughly 300 pages and 67 CDs of witness interviews, surveillance footage and investigative material — expected to be made public in connection with the second‑degree murder case against Zimmerman.

Events Leading to the Shooting

Zimmerman first called police to report a “suspicious person” walking through the neighborhood. After the dispatcher advised him not to follow the teenager, Zimmerman left his vehicle. A confrontation followed, though the exact sequence remains disputed.

Zimmerman has claimed he fired in self‑defense, saying he was on his back and that Martin was on top of him, striking him.

Zimmerman Awaits Trial

George Zimmerman was charged with second‑degree murder and is currently out on bond as he awaits trial. Federal investigators have continued reviewing the case as part of a separate civil rights inquiry.
