Entrepreneur and rapper, T.I., is calling for the boycott of TMZ, after the news website released details of his sister’s cause of death.
How did T.I.’s sister pass away?
In February of this year, Precious Harris died as a result of a car accident.
Harris was reportedly driving T.I.’s Dodge Avenger with his grandniece, Kairi Chapman, when she became unconscious, veered off the road and crashed into a telephone pole.
Paramedics took her to a hospital where she was placed on life support. Harris was never responsive after the crash and the family decided to remove her from life support a week later.
T.I. calls out TMZ on his sister’s Precious Harris coverage
The rapper posted a powerful video calling out TMZ’s founder, Harvey Levin for posting the story that outlined Harris’ cause of death that included medical documents about her condition that also revealed drugs was in her system when she died in a fatal crash.
“As long as you’ve known me, Harvey, I’ve been respectful, I’ve been cordial, I’ve been polite, I’ve been kind and I’ve been fair,” he said.
“You just burned that bridge. I hope your story was worth it. You just burned that bridge. To not just me, but everybody around me. All my family. Anybody who stand with me and who stand with Precious, will not stand for you.”
In the video, T.I. goes on to call on his friends, his wife Tameka “Tiny” Harris, the Greek organization Delta Sigma Theta Sorority (which Precious was a member of) and his industry friends to silence the outlet and boycott them.
Not long after the news outlet back tracked its story and issued an apology by saying they got it “wrong.”
“T.I. and his family are hurt and furious, and they have a point,” the outlet said. “We got this wrong and we regret posting the M.E.’s findings.

Precious was a vital member in her community throughout her life. She was a proud member of the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority.
She mentored children and young women in need over the years. She was an ambassador for Saving Our Daughters, a nonprofit created by parents Curtis and Debbie Benjamin, who lost their child to a brain tumor.”
