Black and Missing
Search intensifies for missing Alabama realtor Ronald Dumas Jr.
Dumas was last seen on December 15, 2024.
Investigators have escalated the search for Ronald Dumas Jr., a 37-year-old Alabama realtor, after uncovering new evidence of his abduction and possible torture following his December disappearance.
Ronald Dumas Jr has disappeared
Authorities believe suspects kidnapped Dumas in Huntsville and transported him to the Memphis area, where they allegedly conspired to rob and harm him. Surveillance footage from December 15, 2024, shows Dumas entering and leaving a liquor store with two women. He appeared unharmed at the time.
One of the women was later found deceased. The other remains missing and is wanted in connection with Dumas’ disappearance.
Evidence Points to Coordinated Abduction
Huntsville Police presented text messages during a recent Aniah’s Law hearing for one of the suspects, suggesting the suspect may have orchestrated the crime remotely. Investigators say the suspects targeted Dumas after learning he had $7,000 in his bank account and planned to gain access to his phone and funds.
Investigators uncovered messages planning to transport Dumas back to Memphis, where they believed he was still alive.
Authorities found his vehicle abandoned on Interstate 40 in Camden, Tennessee, one day after his last sighting.
They tracked his phone heading south from Memphis on December 21.
Officials added Dumas to Alabama’s Missing Persons List on December 23.
Multi-State Investigation Names Five Suspects
In February, Huntsville Police confirmed the abduction of Dumas and issued warrants for five suspects. Two suspects are currently in custody, while the others remain at large.
Ronald Dumas Jr’s Family Continues to Advocate for Answers
Loved ones remain deeply engaged in the search and are expanding efforts to raise awareness. The family has increased the reward to $10,000 for credible information leading to Dumas’ whereabouts and plans to install billboards in Memphis and organize a volunteer search in September.
