Throughout the week of October 27, Asbury Park Middle School students
participated in the National Student/Parent Mock Election.

About The National Student/Parent Mock Election

This election allowed students and parents to learn about candidates throughout New Jersey who were running for election or reelection in the senate and the congressional districts throughout the state.

For instance, before voting, students in Mr. Wronko’s social studies class conducted research on all the candidates running for the senate and their district, District 6.

They wanted to know if the candidates fulfill the needs of their families.

The candidates that the students did research on were Cory Booker, Jeff Bell, Joseph Baratelli, Jeff Boss, Eugene Martin Lavergne, Antoni N. Sabas, Hank Schroeder, Dorit Goikhman, Frank Pallone Jr., and Anthony E. Wilkinson.

After they learned about the candidates, the students along with their parents participated in the mock election by casting their votes on the National Student website.

This mock election gave Asbury Park Middle School students exposure to the election and voting process.

This event was set up by Ms. Furges, school and climate coach, and Mr. Wronko.
