BLK Dating App launches Greek Life Mode to honor Divine Nine during homecoming season
Just in time with Homecoming season, Greek Life Mode allows users to display their fraternity or sorority affiliation directly on their profile using custom-designed digital stickers.
BLK, the leading dating app for Black singles, has introduced Greek Life Mode to celebrate the legacy of the Divine Nine.
About BLK’s Greek Life Mode feature
Just in time with Homecoming season, the feature allows users to display their fraternity or sorority affiliation directly on their profile using custom-designed digital stickers. Each of the Divine Nine organizations appears in the lineup, from Delta Sigma Theta to Iota Phi Theta.
Amber Cooper, Head of Brand at BLK, said the feature is about more than aesthetics. “We’re honoring that legacy while giving our members a new way to bond during one of the most celebrated cultural moments of the year.”
About the Greek Life Mode stickers designer
LaVonne Coker, a graduate of North Carolina A&T State University and a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., created the stickers.
Her designs reflect the pride and symbolism that have defined Black Greek-letter organizations for over a century.

HBCU Hookups
For BLK, the launch is part of a broader push to align the app with HBCU culture and the rhythms of campus life. Last year, the company released its first Homecoming Hookup Report, a survey that explored how users connect during the season.
Among the findings:
- 41% of respondents said they’d had a Homecoming hookup.
- 63% preferred private settings like hotel rooms or afterparties.
- 77% said they’d avoid drama with exes to keep the mood celebratory.
The report also ranked campuses by vibe and visibility:
- North Carolina A&T earned top marks for overall Homecoming experience.
- Howard University was noted for standout female attendees.
- Morehouse and Grambling tied for best-looking male attendees.
- FAMU was cited for hosting the wildest nights.
- NC A&T and FAMU tied as top spots for hookups.
Taken together, the data and new feature suggest BLK is positioning itself as more than a dating app. It’s a platform for cultural connection, one that understands the significance of the yard, the legacy of the Divine Nine, and the energy that Homecoming brings.
“Homecoming is about tradition, community, and relationships,” Cooper said. “We want BLK to reflect all of that.”
