Nicki Minaj remembers cousin who was shot to death
Nicholas Telemaque, 27, was shot while walking to his car after leaving a nearby club early Monday morning, police said.
In the wake of her cousin Nicholas Telemaque’s murder, a Nicki Minaj song called “We Miss You” surfaced on the Internet, mistakenly leading fans to believe that it was a tribute to her fallen family member.
Although the single talks about the death of a loved one by murder similar to Telemaque’s, Minaj went on Twitter to clarify that the song was recorded over a year ago and was released now without her permission.
Telemaque, 27, was shot while walking to his car after leaving a nearby club early Monday morning, police said. Family believed it was a case of mistaken identity.
The rap superstar took to Twitter on Tuesday stating a man gunned down in Brooklyn, NY on the 4th of July was her “precious cousin”.
“My cousin Nicholas. Murdered. Last nite. Near his home. Brooklyn,NY. Lived in Brooklyn his whole life. My precious cousin. My baby. Killed last nite,” Minaj said.
What a tragedy.
