MIAMI — Anthony Cruse, a homeless father of three, became the center of a national outpouring of support after creator and clothing designer Alex Carabes shared their chance meeting online. Millions watched the viral clip, and thousands stepped in to help him rebuild his life with dignity and stability.

Viral Encounter Draws National Attention

Carabes met Cruse, affectionately called Ant, while filming content in Miami’s Wynwood neighborhood. He asked Cruse to model a hoodie and recorded a short video. The clip went viral, reaching millions across social platforms.

Carabes later explained that Ant was experiencing homelessness and working to regain stability. He said Ant wanted steady work and more time with his children.

Fundraiser Surges as Viewers Step In

As the video spread, thousands of viewers wanted to help. Carabes launched a GoFundMe to support Ant’s basic needs, including housing, food, transportation, and resources to reconnect with his kids. Donations poured in from across the country.

As of this reporting, the fundraiser has raised $8,000.

Local radio station Mix 95 reported that the viral attention helped Ant secure temporary housing. Supporters also helped him access essentials and begin rebuilding his life.

A Rare Moment of Collective Good Online

The story resonated because it offered something unusual on the internet: a shared act of compassion. Viewers didn’t just watch, they acted. Carabes said he wanted to ensure the support reached Ant directly and helped him regain stability.

The viral moment also highlighted the power of visibility. A simple street interaction became a national story about kindness and second chances.
